VAX et PAX

shield maiden, I

tiny prick

a pink

a puncture

needle eye

and you are in the wall

a brick

against the fall

of all we know and love

tiny hole

a vent

a rent

and you are safe

inside the tent

the worldwide tent

stretched taut

against the blizzard

pin to muscle

ain’t no fuss at all

when faced with

something lethal

to the gizzard

a foe with no known

morals or agenda

rank miasma

on the breeze

in the freezer

lies a tiny vial

of hope

a tiny poke

a masterstroke

into your willing arm

cloak of immunity

protection

community

shield maiden

raise the buckler high

and we will

lick this fucker

you and I.
