what’s that sound?

heartbeat thumping

blood pumping

spirits crumpling

is it coming

is the water rising

should we be preparing

for the worst

for the second coming?

the end is nigh

and rain will fall

again and

up through our floors

past our doors

and

in our very beds

and sheds

and worldly goods

again

our tears will fall

 like rain

again

what’s that sound
