a day or two ahead

when almost everyone

is dead

as he is now

within that head

within that core

we cannot call it

heart

or there might be some

hope

(remember that ol’ thing?)

that he might choke

on all the vomit

spewing

from his puckered hole

with every fresh

abomination

spoke.
