CURFEW 11

Updated: Aug 15, 2020

DAY 11 – Aug 13 calling out around the world… knock three times… twice on the pipe if you ain’t gonna show … periscope closes over radio silence hello hello no blips on my Facebook screen where’d everybody go? is it me? have I gone too far? pushed too many buttons with my me me me? here in curfew with maybe just one special one three is company we can’t do without no friends call around for tea but we can shoot the shit online rants and raves footy fashion politics memes to pass the time fakin’ lost normality from within our lockdown cells as if we were, say meeting at a gig to dig a band share a dinner see a movie hold a hand sit side by side

together

my page goes silent I am suddenly bereft a chasm yawns a rift and I am cast adrift in limbo and the echoes of my thoughts

bounce off the walls

like worn-out tennis balls and even when it’s rectified the glitch re-booted set to rights I am haunted by the thought the lack the might have been the fragile network of our shared community.
